De wijn was niet aan te slepen, en zoals dat dan vaak gaat, werd de productie enorm opgeschroefd om aan de vraag te kunnen voldoen. Dat leidde dan weer tot een slechte kwaliteit wijn en zo heeft Soave zijn eigen graf gegraven. Tegenwoordig is de kwaliteit weer dik in orde, maar het onheil is al geschied.
Massimago ligt net buiten het gebied van Soave dus mag je deze wijn technisch gezien ook niet zo noemen, maar het is wel precies wat uw importeur zocht.

Als ik een fijne, fruitige, witte wijn zoek op de kaart met een mooie minerale toets, dan zoek ik eigenlijk altijd naar een Soave. Het is een top prijs, kwaliteit wijn die heerlijk is voor elk moment. Een feestje van geel rijp fruit, citrus en ziltige mineralen.
