Tim Adams Mr. Mick Shiraz 2022 is a beautiful example of Clare Valley Shiraz at its most graceful and flavoursome — lifted fresh red and black fruits on the bouquet, flanked with hints of violet flower, and nuances of creamy, toasty vanilla oak. The palate is rounded and medium-bodied with structural but smooth tannins, dark cherry, and ripe raspberry flavours. The 2022 vintage delivered a long and steady ripening season, producing wines of fruit intensity and concentration, and this is a perfect expression of that. Drink now or cellar with confidence for up to ten years.
Appearance
Deep crimson with purple hues — the vibrant, youthful colour of a Clare Valley Shiraz from the outstanding 2022 vintage, with the depth and intensity that 24 months of American oak maturation and a long, steady ripening season deliver.
Aroma
Lifted fresh red and black fruits flanked with hints of violet flower — nuances of creamy and toasty vanilla oak accompanying the fruit to create a bouquet of genuine elegance and the classic Clare Valley Shiraz character at its most expressive.
Palate
Rounded and medium-bodied with structural but smooth tannins — dark cherry and ripe raspberry flavours with the creamy vanilla oak integration that 24 months of American oak maturation delivers. Graceful yet flavoursome, with a long and satisfying finish.
Pairs With
All red meats — particularly char-grilled steak. The structural but smooth tannins and ripe fruit character make this a versatile and reliable partner across a wide range of food, or equally enjoyable on its own.
