Seville Hill Reserve Shiraz 2019 is a richly structured, full-bodied expression of one of the Yarra Valley’s most elevated and distinctive cool-climate sites — grown on the famous rich red volcanic soils of Seville, at one of the region’s higher and cooler properties. An enriched, full, soft palate of black cherry, boysenberry, aniseed, mocha coffee, spices, and white pepper, with well-integrated oak and a soft tannin finish that speaks to the quality of the site and the vintage. A wine built for long-term cellaring, from a family with over 40 years of agricultural heritage in the Yarra Valley.

Tasting Notes

Appearance

Deep, rich ruby — the concentrated, vibrant colour of a Reserve Shiraz from elevated, cool-climate Seville, grown on the rich red volcanic soils that define the character of this exceptional Yarra Valley site.

Complex and inviting — black cherry, boysenberry, and aniseed, with mocha coffee, spices, and white pepper adding depth and intrigue. The expressive, cool-climate bouquet of a Reserve Shiraz from one of Seville’s finest elevated sites.

Palate

Enriched, full, and soft — black cherry, boysenberry, aniseed, mocha coffee, spices, and white pepper, with well-integrated oak enhancing the complex structure and a soft tannin finish providing elegance and length. A wine of genuine depth and cellaring potential.

Pairs With

Slow-roasted lamb, grilled beef, duck, and aged hard cheeses — a wine that will develop extraordinary complexity with long-term cellaring.

Finish

Soft and lingering — well-integrated oak and supple tannins providing a refined, elegant close that makes every glass a reminder of why this elevated Seville site produces Shiraz of genuine distinction.

Entertaining, informative, without being overwhelming.
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
Got it for, basically, half-off standard retail. At that price, it's a fine addition to the WWII library. Some interesting information displayed in a mostly entertaining way. I get that battle maps are always a challenge (maps are static - battles are dynamic). This does a fairly adequate job - better than most battle maps - though far from groundbreaking. item arrived well packed - no issues with binding (as some others seem to report). Though the book overall is a bit "warped" and several of the maps are mis-printed or mis-cut as to make them unusable. 3 bad out of 300 - not horrible - again at the price I paid. If the subject interest you - I'd suggest getting - but not a "must have".
